Well.... at least there was NO WOMEN in the first episode last night.... just a blubbery Murray'esque Saffa who should have been on the X factor rather than training to bayonet men... glad he's gone...

Worked behind the bar in a few Para bars in Aldershot back in the mid eighties(The Pegasus and The Traf).Those boys knew how to party.Still good friends with a lot of them.
The town died when the majority of the regiment moved to Colchester.

Well women have tried out for the sas, they've just failed!
The saffa cracked me. One minute he was saying he'd drag himself with broken bones if need be and the next he was crying and then quitting. Looked bloody cold though.
Always annoyed I was so obsessed with west ham, as the army would have been right up my street.
I'm rooting for the black fella when he tries again, fucking useless with anything involving his brain unfortunately.

I have a number of ex para acquaintances, who are thoroughly hard and nasty so and so’s, if they choose to be. I was also in the cadets myself, where we would be torn off a few strips by NCO’s.
However, after watching the programme the other night, I thought that the corporals were far too lax on the new recruits.

I play footie with a Para here in Colchester and he said he had to turn it off after about 15 minutes as it looked they were too focused on the obvious failures.
I quite enjoyed it though.
He brought a mate today for his first match with us and I was calling him Joe, which he did think was quite good banter.
He was fucking awful though and we lost!

Just watched the 2nd SAS programme, great stuff.
Beasting's where they keep going until someone quits never fail to crack me up. They have gotta hurt!
Liking the fact the mole this time is a bird as well.
And give me walking face first down a sheer face any day of the week over carrying a big fuck off log up a mountain!!

Honestly I have never seen so many women crying in one place... it's like a mass screening of Beaches... the day a bird makes our Special Forces and is shoved on a mission I'll buy a CAT...

Yeah literally other than the Swede who is clearly half decent (though am sure the Swedish special forces entry isn't as mental as the SAS), the others have no chance.
I mean the one who actually wants to be a Marine must be on drugs.
Does she think there isn't any training and they just send you somewhere with a gun to shoot people?

my son in law was a captain in the paras, posh little fucker, he's a major now in the sappers, in iraq at the moment, he's had 2 spells in selly oak for getting blown up by ieds in afghanistan, but he wouldn't leave it, mad as a box of frogs

Spoken a couple of times to Sanfrancis-co-uk. I've drunk in both the pubs he mentioned, it was a real eye opener. Civvies were welcome, as long as you joined in the fun!! Piss drinking comps, or sliding around the floor on plastic sheeting, while all the locals took turns kicking you!! Great article about Aldershot pubs here!! The good ole days!!

Place I have drunk a few times at over the years... was pub of choice when I used to pop over and see a mate play for Chelmsford City... also use it when we play WDF's in the vets league... decent place although I have yet to see anyone staple beer mats to their forehead...

I worked in The Rose and Crown(Tiffanys) for a couple of years as well and Cheeks(When it was the Limelight) as well,also The Wheatsheaf when it was full on biker!
I'm sure you'll agree the only full on Para bars were, in no particular order.
